Notice to Guests Using Booking.com Regarding Suspicious Messages
We have recently confirmed that some guests who made reservations at TONES OSAKA through Booking.com have received suspicious messages via WhatsApp, email, and other communication channels.
These messages impersonate reservation confirmation notices and include requests for credit card information or URLs leading to phishing websites.
Please be advised that neither TONES OSAKA nor Booking.com will ever request guests who booked through Booking.com to provide credit card information or make payments via email or messaging applications. We kindly ask all guests to remain vigilant.
Request to Our Guests:
If you receive any suspicious messages claiming to be from Booking.com or accommodation providers, please do not access any attached URLs or links. If you have already accessed such links and entered your credit card information or completed any payment, please immediately contact both Booking.com and your credit card company.
We are currently working with Booking.com to confirm the facts and investigate this matter further.
As part of TONES OSAKA’s security measures, we have changed the login password for the Booking.com management system and implemented all necessary precautions, including the strict enforcement of two-factor authentication.
Please refer to the official notice from Booking.com for further information.
What is a phishing website?
